Windows SmartScreen

The installer is not code-signed, so Windows SmartScreen may show a "Windows protected your PC" dialog when you run it. This is normal for unsigned open-source software. Click More info and then Run anyway to proceed with the installation.

  1. Download MSCPlugins-vX.X-Setup.msi from the Releases page
  2. Run as Administrator
  3. Select the plugins and drivers you want to install

Note

The installer handles stopping/starting the required Milestone services automatically. It only stops the Recording Server when device drivers are being installed or removed, and only stops the Event Server when admin plugins are being installed or removed. Smart Client-only or driver-only installs leave the other service untouched.

Individual ZIPs for each plugin/driver are available on the Releases page.

Unblock ZIPs first

Always unblock downloaded ZIP files before extracting: right-click the .zip → Properties → Unblock → OK. Windows marks downloaded files as untrusted and will prevent the DLLs from loading.

Services

After manual installation, restart the relevant service, if you update, you need to stop the services before.

Local Download Page

When you install on a machine that has IIS (Managment Server), the installer offers an optional feature called Local download page on this server.

When enabled, it publishes the MSI and every per-plugin ZIP to http://this-server/mscp/, so other admins on the same network can browse to the page and download any plugin without having to fetch the MSI from GitHub.

The feature is off by default. It is hidden entirely on machines without IIS.

After install, browse to http://<management-server>/mscp/. If the management server has an encryption enabled, https://... works automatically with the same certificate.
